Supporting Indi’s Family in a Time of Loss

A couple of weeks ago the Foundation was contacted about the possibility of assisting a family from the agricultural district of Wellstead in South West WA.

The situation involved a very private family who were in a very dire situation where their 5 year old daughter, Indi had been diagnosed with a highly aggressive brain tumour that is very difficult to treat.

Indi was one of four children and much loved by all. The family have had an extremely stressful time both emotionally but also financially where they have sunk all their available funds into maintaining Indi’s quality of life for the time she had left.

Tragically Indi’s health took a very bad turn cutting her life short very suddenly. Indi passed away a couple of weeks ago leaving the family way too early.

Although there is very little upside to such a situation, the MMWIF were fortunate to have been contacted by some very caring and selfless people from the WA Kids Cancer Support Group to see if we could help out. Respecting that the family were very private but obviously in a very difficult situation we quickly were able to take some short term financial pressure off the family to allow them to grieve Indi’s sudden departure.

The foundation and wider wool industry would like to express our sincere best for the family going forward and pay tribute to a brave little girl, Indi.
